Limited time but still want to explore some of Namibia's highlights? Then you could consider a shorter trip that focuses on the northern areas of Etosha and Damaraland. Choose from a host of land and ocean activities in the coastal town of Swakopmund and then look out for desert-adapted wildlife and ancient rock-art in the vast rocky deserts of Damaraland. Next see the game in the Etosha National Park one of the world's best places to view animals as the jostle to get to the water holes. Your journey ends at the inspirational Africat project, Okonjima where you can get close up to rescued big cats. This is a wonderful experience and one we highly recommend.

Itinerary

Depart from London Heathrow on overnight flight to Windhoek, via Johannesburg.
On arrival at approximately lunch time, collect your hire car and drive to Olive Grove Guest House for a 1 night stay in a standard room with breakfast included. This afternoon will be at leisure to enjoy the city and have a self drive briefing.
Staying at   Olive Grove
Early morning departure in an easterly direction, driving about 4 ½ hours to the coastal town of Swakopmund for a 2 night stay at Villa Margherita with breakfast included. There are so many things on offer from adrenalin activities such as sand-bording and quad biking, boat trips to see the marine life and inland attractions such at the ancient Welwitchia plants.
Staying at   Villa Margherita
A 5-6 hour drive north through the rocky Damaraland desert takes you to Damara Mopane for a three night stay, with breakfast included. Highlights include the rock engravings, the Organ Pipe rock formations and the Petrified Forest. Look out for desert-adapted elephants along the way.
Journey northwards for about 4 ½ hours to Etosha Safari Lodge for a 3-night stay, with breakfast included. This lodge is an ideal base for daily trips into the national park, either full-day with packed lunch or morning and afternoon drives, returning in the day to enjoy some time relaxing at the lodge.
Drive south for about three hours to your final base where you learn about the hands-on work done by the Africat Project to save cheetah, lion and leopard. Stay one night at Okonjima Main Lodge in a Vew Room with breakfast and dinner included.
Return to Windhoek for afternoon flight back to London via Johannesburg, this final drive is about 3 hour.
