Spend four nights on the island of St Helena to discover the island at your own pace. Whether you're interested in the marine life, birding, walks, history or culture, you can see and do whatever interests you. This magical island is one of the remotest holiday destinations in the world, lying 1,200 miles off the coast of Africa in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. If you want a unique holiday experience, you can't get much better than this.

This itinerary is designed to acquaint you with St Helena over the course of a few days. Its length makes it ideal to combine with a safari or relaxing beach getaway. Please speak to a Rainbow specialist on 0207 666 1250 to find out more.

Itinerary

Depart this evening on your flight to Johannesburg.
On arrival into Johannesburg, connect to your flight to St Helena. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel, where you will spend the next four nights with breakfast included.
The next few days are at leisure for you to take in the island at your own pace. If you're travelling from June to December, you could choose to look for whale sharks. You'll find dolphins all year round, so a boat trip is well worth it to try to spot them. Other activities you could undertake include fishing, golfing, incredible walks or more strenuous hikes, and of course the bird watching on St Helena is magnificent.
Continue your exploration of the island today. You could visit Jonathan the Giant Seychelles tortoise, thought to be the world's oldest living animal, in the gardens of Plantation House. Longwood House is also a great place to visit. This is a tiny patch of French territory that was once the home-in-exile of Napoleon Bonaparte, banished here following his defeat by the British.
Take advantage of your final full day on St Helena by discovering more of this magical island. If you're feeling up to it, you could climb Jacob's Ladder - that's 669 steps, or 600ft! Take the time to stroll around Jamestown, nestled in its valley, and drink in the sense of an English town the likes of which you won't find today. Friendly locals will smile at you and often stop to talk, which is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about life in the middle of the Atlantic.
Today you will have the morning at leisure before being transferred to the airport for your flight back to Johannesburg. On arrival, take the complimentary shuttle to the D'Oreal grande for the one night with breakfast included.
Today make your way back to the airport for your flight back to London Heathrow.
