Our Kenya safari and Zanzibar beach holiday takes you to Kenya's game-rich Masai Mara, the Unesco / World Heritage site of Stone Town and the white sand beaches of Zanzibar. Stay in comfortable safari tents at Governors' Camp, with en suite bathrooms and flush loos. In Stone Town your base is a gorgeous converted Zanzibari palace, followed by 6-nights at the lovely Pongwe beach Lodge. Ref 564476

Itinerary

Take the direct British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Nairobi it is a day flight and arrives in the evening. On arrival you will be collected and transferred to your hotel - Ole Sereni - in Nairobi for the night.
On arrival this morning you will be transfered to the domestic airport - Wilson for your light aircraft flight to Governors' Camp. Transfer by light aircraft to the game-rich Masai Mara for a 3-night stay at the classic tented Governors' Camp, with all meals, game activities and park fees included. Governors' is a traditional safari camp in the heart of the Masai Mara.
Your day starts with a early morning wake up call and a hot cup of coffee before heading out to catch sight of variety of wildlife on offer. The early morning is the best time to see the animals as they are the most active, out hunting before the heat of the day forces them to take cover in the shade before heading out again in the early evening. Your schedule usually follows their lead. You can return to camp for a midday snooze before heading out again or you can have a picnic breakfast and lunch packed for you and head all day. Return as the sun sets for a shower then meet around the campfire to exchange stories before sitting down for a fabulous three course meal.

Governors' Camp offers a range of activities from game drives in the Masai Mara reserve to hot air ballooning or a walking safari. You may also opt to visit one of the community projects that the lodge is involved in or learn about the masai culture.

After your final game drive, fly by light aircraft to Nairobi and take the evening flight to Zanzibar Island, where you stay in a Suite for one night at the Zanzibar Palace Hotel in Stone Town, breakfast included. This award winning hotel is located right in the heart of Stone Town and within walking distance of all the historical sites that you will get to see on your morning guided walk.
After breakfast you will be taken on a morning guided walking tour of historical Stone Town, a Unesco World Heritage site. wandering around the maze of narrow alleyways which are too narrow for cars and are lined with houses, shops and bazaars. Later you will be transferred to your hotel, a small lodge set on a palm-lined, white sand beach, where you stay for a relaxing 6 nights in a garden room, breakfast and dinner included.
Spend your days relaxing here spending time by the pool or in the main area which has plenty of space to find your own spot. For the more active there is the option to dive the world famous Mnemba Atoll. Or a visit to see the Colubus Monkeys (additional charge)

Check-out after breakfast, afternoon transfer to Zanzibar Airport for return overnight flight via Nairobi to London Heathrow.

Pricing Notes

For a balloon flight over the Masai Mara allow from £310 per person. This should be pre-arranged, so please mention this to your consultant when booking. Luggage restriction on safari flights is strictly 20 kilograms in total including hand luggage and in soft bags only.
