Experience Highlights
- Duration: Full day
- Type: Group Experience
Located on the Northwest shore of the Lake Argentino, Estancia Cristina is in a unique spot in Los Glaciares National Park.
Founded in 1941 by Joseph P. Masters and his wife, this stunning place keeps the history of this family alive, and tells the story of their great effort and perseverance that made this lonely and inhospitable place into a home. The Upsala glacier, located a few kilometres from the Estancia, is one of the most important assets of Los Glaciares National Park. The classic tour visits the museum and old shearing shed, where guests will be introduced to the history of the Estancia.
Then you will do a small guided walk up to Caterina River and the chapel, and you will also walk through the historical part of the estancia. Later on there is an easy two hour trek to Los Perros waterfall; you will be stunned by the beauty of the place surrounded by ñires woods. You will be amazed by the aerial views of Caterina River and the estancia.
During the day there will be time between activities for lunch. We can arrange this at the Estancia or bring your own box lunch.
