Zarafa Camp, remote and secluded, is Selinda’s sister camp, built on a palm island in floodplain savannah, near the Zibalianja Lagoon, source of the Savute Channel.
With a maximum of eight guests at any one time, the emphasis here really is on warmth and hospitality.
Zarafa’s four comfortable tents are built on wooden decks, all with wide vistas of the flood plain. The thatched bar and viewing deck overlook the small, but active waterhole. Meals are eaten in a snug ‘mess-tent’.
Activities
Activities include early morning, afternoon and night game drives, providing the opportunity to see both daytime and nocturnal wildlife. On the Selinda Walking Trail there are also opportunities to go on spotlit night drives. Birding is excellent and you can go fishing.
Short nature walks with an experienced ranger are available from Zarafa; a sunken hide is well positioned at the edge of a waterhole, where a wide variety of animals arrive to drink, including elephant, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dog, lion and abundant bird life.
Children
Children are welcome from the age of eight. For children between 8-12 years, game drives must be private and there may be an extra charge for this. For advice on family-friendly safari options, speak with our consultants.
