Experience Highlights

  • Duration: 10 Hours

Departure from Puerto Varas towards the locality of Pargua, to board the ferry that crosses over to Chiloe. After a 30-minute cruise, visitors reach Villa de Chacao and head to Dalcahue, situated 20 minutes from Castro. There will be enough time to walk around and visit the cove, the main square and the church, declared a Unesco Heritage Site. Continue to the Gamboa district in Castro to see the 'palafitos' and typical crafts fair.

On the return trip, a stop at the city of Ancud is planned, to visit the Plaza de Armas square, the Regional Museum, the Municipal Market, Huaihuen hill and San Antonio Fort. The return trip includes a new crossing of the Chacao Canal towards the continent.

In Dalcahue village a famed crafts fair can be visited (only on Sundays) that offers an assortment of woven fabrics and regional basketry items.

Note: Museum closed Mondays and holidays/SIB
