Sakatia Lodge is a great value beach property, away from the hustle and bustle of busy Nosy Be. Situated on the southern-side on the island of Nosy Sakatia, this highly popular lodge is a favourite with divers.
Accommodation
The lodge has four nature bungalows, four ocean view bungalows, a private family bungalow and a beachfront villa. Each room is simple in design with an en-suite bathroom and private terrace. All rooms have hot and cold running water and a ceiling fan, but the beachfront villa also benefits from air conditioning. Electricity is available between 9am-2pm and 5pm – 1am every day.
The beach can be tidal, but a permanent sandy area around the lodge provides a place to relax and sunbathe at all times of the day.
Food
Meals are eaten in the open air restaurant, adjacent to the bar area. Breakfast is a buffet and the dinner menu is set – do let us know about any allergies/dislikes in advance. The food prepared is organic, fresh and locally sourced.
Activities & Facilities
One of the main attractions of the lodge is the excellent dive centre, run by the brilliant instructor Jacques. It offers numerous NAUI dive courses and fun dives at dive sites within the house reef and further afield around the Nosy Be archipelago. Excellent snorkelling can also be enjoyed off the beach in the house reef – the seabed shelves extremely gradually.
Other activities include exploration of the island villages, kayaking, pirogue tours of the island with a picnic lunch, quad-biking or horse-riding on Nosy Be and other island excursions.
In season, excursions can be arranged to see whales (later July to October in this area) and even whale-sharks (September into December). Ask us for details.
Access
Access to the lodge is by speedboat from the island of Nosy Be (approximately 15 minutes).
