Experience Highlights

  • Duration: 3 hours (flexible)
  • Type: Group Experience

This late afternoon excursion entails a walk known as ‘tsingy tsingy’, which takes you from the back of Iharana Bush Camp into a limestone outcrop with impressive tsingy formations. Note that there is a relatively steep climb for about 30 minutes to reach the viewpoints, grading is moderate so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

You then follow an impressive, thoughtfully designed trail including wooden walkway sections, to a viewing platform from where sundowners can be enjoyed. Afterwards, your guide will lead you carefully downhill back to the lodge. If you like, this can be combined with a quick walk around the lakeshore (September - November) to seek nocturnal wildlife and a pirogue transfer back to the lodge.  Be sure to pack a torch for the evening section of the outing.
