Experience Highlights
- Duration: 5
- Type: Group Experience
After an early breakfast your guide will collect you from the lodge and take you to the starting point of one of the Ranomafana National Park’s trails. As is always the case in Madagascar, day walks commence early in the morning so that you can savour the dawn chorus.
Trails in Ranomafana for the most part, traverse some arduous terrain including a few steep slopes over long slopes, so are graded as moderate. Depending on how often you stop to study wildlife, you should be back at the lodge around lunch time. It is not uncommon to see up to five species of diurnal lemur during a day walk along some of the circuits here - these include Eastern lesser bamboo lemur, Black and white ruffed lemur, Milne-Edward's sifaka and Red-fronted brown lemur. Birdlife and herpetofauna in this park is wonderful.
Please note that a reasonable fitness level is required for this national park.
