A boutique lodge situated on the southern sandy shores of Likoma Island, Kaya Mawa is a lakefront paradise perfect for families, couples and honeymooners.
During your time on the shores of Lake Malawi, you can explore the depths of this deep freshwater lake and discover diverse aquatic life, including 400 species of cichlid fish. As well as snorkelling, other activities include stand up paddleboarding, sailing and kayaking on the sparkling waters.
Built by local hands, Kaya Mawa is Malawi’s first lodge run solely on renewable energy, firmly grounded in sustainability, community empowerment and ethical trade. There are 11 rooms to choose from, some with their own private deck, others with a plunge pool, courtyard or spacious terrace. Everything about the place is incredible.
Please note, the lodge is closed between 2 Jan and 29 March every year.
