Palm Hotel & Spa is a four-star hotel located between St Pierre and St Joseph on the south coast of the island. It's set above the bay of Grand Anse, one of the most beautiful beaches white coral beaches on Réunion.
The beach is 15 minutes walk down hill and the hotel has three shuttles a day.
The Palm Hotel is about an hour and 30 minutes drive from the main international airport, along the coastal highway to a small road bordered by fields of sugar cane. Just 20 minutes' drive northwest of the Palm is Reunion Pierrefonds Airport, with direct flights to Mauritius and Antananarivo, Madagascar. The Palm Hotel is well placed for exploring the wild southern coast of the island, with its recent lava flows, black pebble beaches and volcanic cliffs. The contrast between the black volcanic outpourings and the lush green vegetation makes this rugged coast particularly scenic.
Palm Hotel & Spa has 65 rooms set in 3.2 hectares of tropical gardens. The 36 superior rooms – 8 of which can interconnect - are situated on the ground and first floors and grouped in 6 villas. The 16 deluxe rooms are orientated towards the sea. They are more spacious, with a lounge area and a private verandah opening onto the tropical gardens. Two of the deluxe rooms have a full sea view (supplement) and three are designed to cater for people with limited mobility.
The 14 junior suites have a sitting area, two bedrooms and an additional outside shower. Up to two children under 12 can be accommodated with their parents. The three 100m² lodge rooms are fantastic. Situated on the cliff overlooking the wild coast and the ocean, with a breathtaking view, they have a sitting area with a flat-screen TV, a bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and a king-size bed; and the jacuzzi bathtub on the verandah looks out over Grand’ Anse. The lodges were designed with couples and honeymooners in mind. Guests staying in one of the lodges also receive one free entrance per person to the hammam and jacuzzi in the spa.
All rooms have air-conditioning, an en suite bathroom with toilet, mini-bar, satellite television, internet access and other amenities. Beach towels are provided.
Restaurants
The Palm has two restaurants. The Makassar serves à la carte gastronomic lunch and dinner. Le Deck, the panoramic main restaurant, offers both set and à la carte menus. There is also a bar and a lounge. The breakfast is very good with a large choice of pastries, bread, homemade jams, honey and juices and continental/English breakfast.
Facilities
The two infinity pools overlooking Grand’ Anse beach are lovely places to swim or relax. The hotel has a fitness room, a games room and mini-golf will soon be available. Aquagym sessions are held twice each week and free internet is available. Grand’ Anse beach is just 10 minutes’ walk along the path, or you can be driven in one of the electric cars.
The 380m² Akea Spa & Beauty Centre is a special feature. The spa has its own proprietary beauty products made in Thailand. Facilities include five massage rooms, a special room for couples’ massages, a solarium, a jacuzzi and a hammam. Please ask for more information about the treatments offered.
An 18-hole golf course is available at Etang-Salé, just 20 minutes’ drive from the Palm.
Babysitting is available by prior arrangement (paid locally).
