Crater Forest Tented Camp is a charming eco-friendly camp, set on a hill overlooking forest and coffee plantations between the town of Karatu and next to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Set on raised timber platforms, the 15 stylish and spacious tents-under-thatch all have a small lounge area with African-style firepot and magnificent views over the forest. In the evening, the camp is lit by traditional hurricane lamps before you gather around the glowing hearth in the mess area for an aperitif and dinner.
Between game-viewing activities in Manyara or the Crater, mountain biking, cultural tours and forest walks can be arranged; or tour a coffee estate to see how it’s grown, harvested and roasted.
