Swala Camp is located in the remote southern half of Tarangire National Park, situated in amongst tall acacia trees giving you a feeling of privacy, experiencing this wonderful park in peace and quiet.
Tarangire National Park is approximately 2, 850 sq km that lies at the centre of a vast ecosystem that comprises of the Tarangire Conservation area and also around 5, 000 sq km of unprotected land that extends across the Maasai Steppes. This park is usually dryer than the Serengeti but the Tarangire River that flows throughout the year - causing the park to have its own migration of mainly elephants, but other animals such as zebra, wildebeest and other animals attracted to this reliable supply of water.
The 12 canvas tent structures are spacious with open plan area with king-size bed and sitting area, looking onto your private veranda with views over the water hole, that draws a variety of animals to it, so an early sundowner here would be an alternative game viewing experience. The bathrooms are in keeping with the luxury of your tent and have an indoor and outdoor shower.
The main area has a comfortable sitting area, dinning area and small library which is on a raised platform to give you a panoramic view of the waterhole and the bush TV (campfire) where you congregate before dinner.
