Experience Highlights
- Duration: 3 hours
This game drive is in the rermote Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park (approx. 3hrs drive), game driving en-route. During this drive, landscapes change from lush green, fertile and mountainous terrain to hot, dry, and flat savannah country. Time permitting, you may have the opportunity of visiting a local elephant trench project – which helps to prevent elephants coming into the village and raiding crops. Ishasha is an alluring, quiet off-the-beaten track game viewing area and is renowned for its tree-climbing lions. You explore Ishasha, driving over the plains in open savannah searching for herds of Buffalo, Uganda Kob, and Topi, as well as the tree-climbing Lions amongst the many Wild fig trees that dot the landscape. You also visit the Uganda Kob mating grounds, a preferred hunting area of the Lions.
