Built on a former cacao and rubber plantation and sheltered by an intricate forest canopy, Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion is serenely sat near Lake Sandoval within the Peruvian Amazon. Set deep in the rainforest between Tambopata and the Madre de Dios river, it located within 2000 acres of pristine jungle. Reached by a 20 minute motor boat from Puerto Maldonado, on arrival, watch brightly coloured birds flying through the tree tops, spot tropical plants and insects and gather first hand insight into this fascinating ecosystem. Offering simple yet stylish accommodation, its screened cabanas and high thatched roofs allow guests to wake to the sights, sounds and scents of the jungle and experience the wild right from the porch. There are 8 rooms within the main lodge and 7 stilted cabanas nearby, all beautifully appointed, all feature mosquito nets, hot water, ceiling fan and either two twin beds or a king. The main lodge features the restaurant, bar and dining room. During your stay, guests can choose from an array of activities such as trekking to wildlife rich lakes, discovering the jungle under the cover of darkness, canoeing and bird watching. Wildlife sometimes spotted in the area are blue and yellow macaws, monkeys, agoutis, sloths, caiman, tapir and giant river otters.
