Our Cape Town, Garden route and Safari small group tour introduces you to South Africa without you having to drive.

This fully escorted small group tour takes in many of South Africa's renowned highlights, from its lively multi-cultural city centre in Cape Town to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, with a stop en route to see the penguins at Boulders Beach.

You also spend a full day exploring the Cape Winelands and sampling some of the world-famous produce.

The tour then leaves Cape Town to follow the iconic Route 62, exploring the quaint charming Karoo towns where time has stood still along the journey, before reaching the heart of the 'Garden Route'. Explore the beautiful coastal lagoon and cliffs of Knysna, watch for dolphins in the Plettenberg area, and search for wildlife at the Tsitsikamma National Park and Addo Elephant Park.

The tour ends in Port Elizabeth, which gives you the opportunity to extend your trip with a safari in either the Eastern Cape or transferring north to the Kruger area. You stay in small 4-star hotels and lodges throughout.

This itinerary is ideal for those who do not want to drive but wish to see the Garden Route.with many meals included. The tour departs on a weekly basis with a minimum of two people and maximum of 14. 

Itinerary

Depart from the UK on overnight flight to Cape Town.
On arrival this morning you will be met and transfered to your hotel in Cape Town - the Trevoyan guest house, where you will spend the next 4 nights with breakfast included.
Early morning collection for a city tour of Cape Town. Take a walk through the company gardens and soak up views of the atlantic seaboard. You will also have the opportunity to go up table mountain - tickets are not included. You will return back to the hotel by about 13:00
Spend a full day exploring the Cape Peninsula. You head down to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive and into the southern suburbs where you find historic coastal villages and a penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
Finally the wine! Enjoy a picturesque drive into the heart of the Cape Winelands through mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. Stop for wine tastings and lunch (own account), visiting the towns of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.
Early morning departure to Mosselbay. The journey is a scenic one that continues on to Cape Agulhas, which is the actual Southern Most tip of Africa and is the point at which the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet.. continue your journey to Mossel Bay through the scenic rugged coast and on to Swellendam before an overnight in Mossel Bay. Today you will continue your journey after breakfast to Oudtshoorn the Ostrich capital of the world as well as the Cango Caves. Here you will visit and ostrich farm and enjoy a wine tasting at ta local estate before continuing on to the Cango Caves. Overnight is in Oudtshoorn.
Staying at   La Plume
Today after breakfast, you will head toward George via Wilderness on the way to Knysna - which is on the shores of a beautiful lagoon famed for its oysters. Here you will enjoy a cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve where you will be able to take a trailer ride to the top of the western head to enjoy the views of the town - returning in time for lunch. Today you will be taken to see the beautiful Garden Of Eden, set in the indigenous Knysna Forest. Next you'll visit the Monkeyland Primate sanctuary where you will see a variety of primates at this sanctuary well known for its rehabilitation projects. Continue to the Eastern Head where you will enjoy views of the Knysna heads. Overnight in Knysna
Today start your journey to Plettenberg Bay, before visiting the biggest single free flight aviary in the world, Birds Of Eden. Continue on to Boukrans bridge which is where the World's highest commercially operated Bungy Jump is. Explore the Tsitsikamma National Park, first taking a walk on the suspension bridge that takes you across the Storms River mouth gorge, where there are incredible views and photo opportunities. Overnight in Tsitsikamma.
Today you will head for Port Elizabeth, where you will leave the rest of the group and continue on to your safari at Shamwari Game Reserve. Your private transfer will be waiting for you. Long Lee Manor is an Edwardian styled Manor in the heart of Shamwari reserve. It is surrounded by a beautiful manicured garden which is a pleasure for younger children. The lodge has 15 luxury rooms which have either a private balcony or patio. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives as well as a visit to the rehab centre.
Today you will have a morning game drive into the big five reserve of Shamwari. You will return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by some time at leisure to explore the lodge before lunch. After lunch take some time to relax, read a book, have a dip in the pool or have a nap! You will then have high tea and a late afternoon game drive in search of more wildlife. Return to the lodge in time for dinner.
Today will be another day for you to explore the Shamwari reserve. Your guides will also be able to give you information on additional activities available from the lodge such as the Shamwari Wildlife Rehabilitation centre.
Enjoy a morning activity before your transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport for return flight via Johannesburg to the United Kingdom
