Combine the excitement of city exploration in Cape Town with the thrill of an off-road safari adventure in the malaria-free Eastern Cape on this eight-night 'in country' family holiday.

Cape Town is your first stop on this tour for four nights. Home to everything from a penguin colony at Boulders Beach to leisure, shopping and exclusive entertainment at the wonderful V&A Waterfront, there are plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained during your stay.

The Eastern Cape will be the second and final stop on your tour for the last three nights. The private game reserves support an impressive array of wildlife. From the hundreds of elephants in The Addo Elephant Park to the ‘Big Five’ of the Kariega Game Reserve, you’ll enjoy a great family adventure.

This sample itinerary works well for February, May and October half-terms as you set off on a Friday evening and arrive back on a Sunday. Cape Town is a fascinating city for adults and children alike and the non-malarial Eastern Cape means you don't even have to worry about taking any precautions.

Half-terms holidays don't get any more exhilarating than this!

Itinerary

Depart London Heathrow on a Friday night, arriving in Cape Town the following morning.
Spend four nights at Southern Sun The Cullinan – a stylish, perfectly situated place to take in all the sights of Cape Town. There’s much to see in Cape Town. So, why not take the cable car up Table Mountain? Or, how about a drive along the scenic Cape Peninsula route and see the penguin colony? You can even visit the famous V&A Waterfront with its many shops and restaurants or take a boat trip to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.
Today, you’ll transfer to Cape Town International Airport and take a flight to the Eastern Cape, where you’ll then transfer to the malaria-free Kariega Private Game Reserve. Here, you’ll spend the next three nights at main lodge, with all meals and activities included. Guided bush walks allow you to see abundant game, such as giraffe, zebra, eland, wildebeest, vervet monkeys, many species of antelope and over 250 bird species. On the west side are the ‘Big-Five’.
After a morning game drive and breakfast, you’ll transfer to Port Elizabeth and take a flight to Johannesburg, to catch your evening flight to the UK, landing at London Heathrow early on Sunday.
