Tanzania’s diverse wildlife and landscapes are absolutely captivating. The destinations on this 10 day safari encompass everything commonly associated with the quintessential African holiday, wildlife, lodges and beautiful African settings amongst the bush. Included is the Namiri Plains, found in an exclusive part of the Serengeti with a dependable level of high quality game viewing.
Upon landing, you will be whisked off for one night at the Onsea House, a marvellous starting point for your Tanzania adventure. From here you’ll journey to Gibb’s Farm. Perfectly positioned in between Lake Manyara National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, Gibb’s Farm is a beautifully tranquil place to marvel, appreciate and explore the breathtaking splendour of the plants, birds and animals found in this pristine corner of East Africa.
Nicknamed Africa’s Garden of Eden the collapsed volcano of Ngorongoro Crater holds an incredibly high concentration of wonderful wildlife, creating an astonishing natural wonder. Lake Manyara is sometimes overlooked for Tanzania’s larger National Parks, creating a pleasantly quiet and intimate ambience to enjoy the wildlife including hippo, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest and the fascinating tree-climbing lion.
After three nights spent exploring these two natural wonders, a light aircraft flight will transport you to the Serengeti National Park and the Namiri Plains. Run by the Asilia safari company, Namiri Plains will provide an outstanding wildlife experience for discerning travellers. The extraordinary land, which was closed for 20 years to create a safe haven for cheetah, is undoubtedly big cat country where they rule and roam free. The dramatic rocky outcrop which are dotted along the plains are the perfect observation points for cheetah, lion and leopard on the prowl for their prey.
One of the stopping points on the thrilling cycle of the dramatic Great Migration, this impressive act of nature has a profound effect on the land and animals of Namiri Plains. From October to May the nutrient rich soils of the eastern plains and the new grass attracts millions of wildebeest and other game to the Namiri Plains – a heaving and swaying wave of animals as far as the eye can see.
