Bolivia's Airstream Campers offer a unique way to experience the world's largest Salt Lake, the Salar de Uyuni. These shiny aluminium, American style campervans cater for up to two guests and are fully equipped with twin or double beds, electric blankets, heating and a private bathroom with hot shower. With a personal chauffeur/guide, during the day explore this vast crystalline lake by 4WD. By night you will be left to experience complete silence and solitude under some of the most amazing starry skies on the planet. Made up of surreal pentagons of salt extending as far as the eye can see, stop at rocky islands covered with gigantic cacti, visit the Thunupa volcano and the nearby Coquesa Mummies. As the sun sets, enjoy a cocktail whilst dinner is prepared by your private chef. As night falls, experience world-class star gazing opportunities before tucking up in the cosy camper.

Itinerary

Fly to Uyuni today from La Paz, upon arrival you will be driven by 4WD approx. 5 hours with your private guide to join up with your Airstream Camper; your home for the next 2 nights. After lunch, enjoy a visit to the village of Tahua, at the foot of the Thunupa Volcano and visit the cave of the Coquesa Mummies. Watch the sunset over the salt flats and the spectacular show of colours as night fall. Sip a cocktail while a hearty meal is prepared by your chef. After dinner, wave farewell to your guide and chef as they set up camp elsewhere, leaving you to enjoy total serenity out on the salt flat.
Today is a full day of salt flat exploration. The largest salt flat on Earth measures 12,000 sq km and offers unbeatable scenery. Otherworldly rock formations, cacti studded islands, volcanoes, lakes, small communities; look out for llamas and flamingos along the way.
After breakfast today, continue over the salt flats exploring more as you return to Uyuni for an evening flight back to La Paz.
