Our Authentic Northern Tanzania and Zanzibar holiday is one of our most popular to this region of Africa. This holiday covers the main Northern Tanzania national parks of Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

You will witness spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, an abundance of bird life that is attracted to the soda lake at Lake Manyara National Park and three days of game viewing on the seemingly endless plains of the Serengeti. Visit the world's largest inactive and intact volcanic caldera at Ngorongoro Crater which draws thousands of large animals including black rhino.

While on safari you will be in the professional hands of a private guide with your own vehicle, providing you with the luxury of travelling at your own pace allowing you the chance to find your own special sightings.

After your five day adventure on safari you will take a short flight to the exotic Indian Ocean Island of Zanzibar for some quiet relaxation and long sandy white beaches.

The camps and lodges in this holiday have been chosen to offer comfortable and authentic experiences in fantastic locations, keeping  you in the heart of all the action together with a real wilderness experience.

Itinerary

Depart from the UK today for your overnight flight to Kilimanjaro
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met by your professional, private driver - guide and taken to Lake Manyara (4 hour drive) for your first game drive in the national park. Made up of forest, arid land and a soda lake this park attracts over 400 species of bird, it is not unusual to spot 100 different species in one day. The park is also home to tree climbing lions, leopards, giraffe, elephant and well as plains game and hippo. You'll stop en route for a picnic lunch before continuing on to the Karatu area where you will spend the next two nights at Tloma Lodge with all meals and activities included.
This morning you head for the Ngorongoro Crater, which is a World Heritage Site and is the world’s largest inactive, intact volcanic caldera. This natural amphitheater is rich with vegetation and is a draw card to over 22,000 large animals including black rhino, hippopotamus, cheetah and African wild dog. Spend the remainder of the day enjoying the crater, before you check in at Tloma Lodge for the night, your stay here includes dinner and breakfast.
Staying at   Tloma Lodge
An early start this morning, your safari will continue towards the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park. This park is famous for its annual migration of zebra and wildebeest which throughout the year, moves north towards Kenya from the Southern Serengeti. You will spend a full day travelling including game viewing, providing you the opportunity to spot Africa's big five, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant as well as many other species of animal. You will spend three nights at Asanja Moru Camp with all meals included. Note that as the migration moves, so the camps may change on this itinerary to accommodate, either South, Central or northern Serengeti.
Staying at   Asanja Africa
Today includes a full day game drive of the Serengeti National Park, enjoying the game sightings at your leisure. Alternatively you may elect to do only a morning and/or afternoon drive and enjoy some time in the camp during the day or picnic lunch out in the park.
Staying at   Asanja Africa
Your final day in the Serengeti. Whether you choose to do a day drive in the park or shorter drives and enjoy lunch in camp is entirely up to you. More time on game drives allows for a better chance of seeing the most wildlife whilst on safari.
Staying at   Asanja Africa
Today you will depart your lodge for the Sereonera airstrip where you will board your light aircraft for a short flight to Zanzibar. On arrival you will be met and transferred by road to Pongwe Beach hotel which is located on the north east coast of Zanzibar. We recommend at least a 5 night stay so you can have time to relax and reflect back on your Tanzania Safari. This will also give you plenty of opportunities to explore Zanzibar and take optional excursions including - Stone Town, visit spice farms, or see the giant tortoises on Prison Island. A popular tour is a visit of Jozani Forest and the Red Colobus Monkeys. Daily breakfast and dinner is included at Pongwe Beach hotel.
Today you will be transferred to the Zanzibar Airport for your overnight flight to the UK.
