This is the ultimate combination of safari and 'beach' in Malawi. Majete Wildlife Reserve in southern Malawi, spans 70 000 hectares and is the country's only Big Five game reserve. A noteworthy conservation success story, the reserve, which in the past, had had most of its resident wildlife poached, was successfully transformed by African Parks to what is now a superb destination for wildlife enthusiasts. We recommend spending 4 nights at Mkulumadzi Lodge before travelling to the shores of Lake Malawi to enjoy time at magnificent Pumulani Lodge.

Itinerary

Depart this evening from London to Blantyre via Johannesburg.
On arrival mid morning you will be met and transferred by road (about 2 hours drive time) to Majete Reserve for a 4 night safari with all meals and safari activities included. Mkulumadzi is a luxury lodge in the reserve with 8 chalets along the banks of the Shire River.
Wake up to birdsong and savour a hot cup of coffee before setting off on your safari this morning. A wonderful adventure awaits as you set off with your experienced guide in search of wildlife.
Staying at   Mkulumadzi Lodge
Walking gives you the chance to get a real feel for the African bush. Encountering small-scale marvels is often just as fascinating as close sightings of larger wildlife.
Staying at   Mkulumadzi Lodge
After dusk sets in, a different range of wildlife come out of their daytime refuges. After enjoying your sundowner in the bush, you will be able to get to know the interesting cast of characters active by night here. They include Galagos (bushbabies) and two species of Genet (Large-spotted and Angolan, pictured) genets, and African palm civets.
Staying at   Mkulumadzi Lodge
Check out of Mkulumatzi. Transfer to Nankumba Peninsula by light aircraft for a 4 night stay at Pumulani Lodge, with all meals and local drinks included. Pumulani has 10 spacious villas set in the hills on the edge of Lake Malawi.
Staying at   Pumulani
Enjoy Kayaking on the lake or go for a snorkel in the clear blue waters. All of your non motorised activities are included.
Staying at   Pumulani
The fish life of Lake Malawi is said to be among the most diverse of any freshwater lake in the world, because it is so isolated from any other waterbodies. Best known is a huge range of colourful Cichlids. Enjoy smorkelling and exploring the tranquil lake.
Staying at   Pumulani
Relax by the pool or continue exploring beautiful Lake Malawi.
Staying at   Pumulani
Depart this afternoon on your flight back to Johannesburg and from there, onto London Heathrow or selected other UK airports.
