Escape to this stunning piece of paradise on our week long itinerary to Sao Tome and Principe, staying at two of our favourite lodges, Omali in Sao Tome and the newly refurbished Bom Bom Island resort. As of May 2025 Virgin Atlantic will start flying this route making it more accessible than before.
Itinerary
Day 1 Departure
Depart the UK today via either Lisbon with TAP or Accra (From May 2025 Virgin Atlantic launches a new flight to Accra)
Day 2 Welcome to Sao Tome
On arrival this morning, make your onward connecting flight to Sao Tome. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation, Omali lodge, where you will spend the next two nights with break fast included.
Speak to one of our specialists about arranging optional guided tours, the coffee and cacao tour is fascinating.
Day 3 Explore Sao Tome
After breakfast this morning, there are a couple of optional excursions that you can choose from; explore some of Sao Tome's most beautiful beaches; a guided hike to Amelia Lagoon; guided guide to Seven Tunnerls and Angolar Waterfall or visit the south of the Island Malanza Mangrove.
Day 4 Journey to Principe
After breakfast today, you will be transferred to the airport for your short light aircraft flight over to Principe Island. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Bom Bom Island Resort for your 5 night stay with Dinner and Breakfast included.
Day 5 - 9 Exploring Principe
The next few days are at your leisure to do as much or as little as you please. You can choose from a variety of hikes and walks around the Island, whether to see the cacao plantations or a hike to see waterfalls, speak to your specialist about tailoring the activities you'd like to do whilst at Bom Bom Island Resort.
If you are visiting between November and February - you might be lucky enough to see nesting turtles.

Day 9 Depart Principe today
Today you will be transferred back to Principe airport for your light aircraft flight back to Sao Tome. On arrival you will be collected and taken to Omali where you will have a day use room available to freshen up before your departure flight later.
You will then be transferred to the airport for your departure flight via Accra or Lisbon
